Welcome

Welcome to Casa Maria

Casa Maria is a thoughtfully prepared San Antonio home, kept the way you'd keep a house for people you care about. There's room to spread out, a kitchen worth cooking in, and a quiet backyard for the end of the day.

Room to settle in.

The living room

Room to settle in.

Somewhere to put your feet up after a long day out. The living room is the part of the house everyone drifts back to — comfortable seating, good light, and a television when you want one.

A kitchen that feels like home.

The kitchen

A kitchen that feels like home.

A full kitchen, ready for a real meal rather than just reheating one. Coffee in the morning, somewhere to unpack the groceries, and the counter space to cook something properly.

Space to spend time together.

The table

Space to spend time together.

Maria will tell you the table is the important part of any house. Meals, card games, the slow conversation after dinner — Casa Maria is built around people being in the same room.

A quiet place to recharge.

Outside

A quiet place to recharge.

A private backyard to sit in when the evening finally cools off, and bedrooms kept calm and dark for the kind of sleep that makes the next day worth it.

Our story

Why Casa Maria?

Some homes seem to choose their name.

The house sits on Mary Street. The woman who owned it before was named Maria. Our host is named Maria. And her mother, before her, was Maria too.

What began as a coincidence became the home's identity. Casa Maria isn't named for one person — it carries all of the Marias connected to this place, and the idea that a home can hold more than one story at once.

A home away from home — not a phrase on a sign, but the way this house has always been meant to feel.

The city

Your home base in San Antonio.

San Antonio rewards an unhurried visit. Spend the day downtown or along the river, eat somewhere you'll talk about afterwards, and come back to a quiet house that isn't a hotel floor. Casa Maria sits in a residential neighborhood, which is exactly what makes it a good place to return to.

  • The River Walk Restaurants and shaded walkways along the river, a level below the downtown streets.
  • The Alamo The 18th-century Spanish mission at the center of downtown.
  • The Missions Four Spanish colonial missions south of downtown, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • The Pearl A former brewery, now restaurants and shops, with a farmers market at the weekend.
  • Southtown & King William Historic streets, galleries and small restaurants just south of downtown.
  • Market Square El Mercado — a Mexican market of shops, bakeries and restaurants near downtown.
  • Brackenridge Park The city's big park, home to the zoo and the Japanese Tea Garden.
  • Tower of the Americas The observation tower built for the 1968 World's Fair, with the city laid out below.
